The Firewalkers are a dynamic performing group comprised of members from diverse backgrounds seeking to find and share the beauty and intensity of movement. Already an established modern dance group, The Firewalkers wish to expand their presence as members of the dance world in a more general sense by offering performances, classes, and workshops as a potential agent for community and personal growth. Drawing from cultures that incorporate dance into their everyday lives, The Firewalkers strive to share and take part in this global experience. It is their belief that dance is an ancient language that finds its roots before the written language when human beings first attempted to express their creativity and spirituality. Their objective is to touch the lives of the people in various communities so that they can bring their experience of dance into daily life in order to help deal with today's issues. Dance can transcend aesthetics, to serve as a means for community and personal growth, understanding, and achievement.
